The Swedish-born Helena Paparizou firstly took part in the contest in 2001, as part of the duet band Antique, singing their entry Die for you. The band managed to give Greece their best result until then, coming 3rd with 147 points.

4 years later and having left the band, Helena went on to represent Greece again at Eurovision with My number one. To date, this has been the only Eurovision victory for the country.

However, Helena’s latest Eurovision attempt was her participation at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2014. The successful singer tried to represent Sweden in Copenhagen with the song Survivor, written by Bobby LjunggrenHenrik Wikström, Karl-Ola Kjellholm and Sharon Vaughn. Helena managed to qualify to Melodifestivalen’s Grand Final, where she finished 4th.

Helena is currently one of the four coaches at The Voice of Greece show, which airs every Wednesday and Thursday evening on SKAI TV. The other judges are Sakis Rouvas, Panos Mouzourakis and Kostis Maraveyas.
