2015 Spanish Eurovision representative Edurne is the spokeswoman for a new campaign about empowerment and self-confidence, and she cites Eurovision as a major inspiration for her own confidence.
Edurne, singer, actress and television host, is the ambassador of confidence in a new Spanish advertising campaign, offering advise on how to believe in oneself and gain empowerment.
As the artist told in an interview to newspaper Diario de Navarra, her experience at Eurovision has helped her when it comes to creating self-confidence as a performer.
Edurne: The Ambassador of Confidence
Edurne was chosen as one of the ambassadors of confidence, together with chef Diego Guerrero, pilot Pol Espargaró and designer Jorge Vázquez, in collaboration with company Reale Seguros. The celebrities will share videos about their way to success, and how they found their own self-confidence.
As an artist, Edurne is exposed to public scrutiny, and she tells bout her experience at Eurovision, and how to deal with being a celebrity:
It (Eurovision) is one of the most trustworthy things I have ever had to do in my life. It was one of my greatest challenges, I had many criticisms, positive and negative, and that marked me before and after as a person when it comes to trusting in myself and doing what I really like.
We artists are very exposed to people and their opinions, so it is easy to lose that security in some moments. Still, I am very optimistic and it happens to me very little.
Edurne has advice for young artists aspiring to break through in the music scene, especially those participating in TV-shows:
The advice I give to all the contestants and everyone who goes to a casting is to be yourself, to know that you do well and not to let yourself be carried away by the opinions of others, including your closest environment. It is also important not to give in to illusion and enjoy it, because that is transmitted.
Its purpose should not be to record an album, but to do things well and stay content with oneself.
The Spanish singer also has no desire to disclose personal information, for example in an autobiography:
Knowing myself, I do not think I would do it. I am very much my own person, and I really like to take care of my privacy.
