Tonight, the Danish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was held. Ten acts competed and it was decided that Chanée & Tomas N'evergreen will represent Denmark in Oslo with the song In a moment like this written by Thomas G:son, Henrik Sethsson and Erik Bernholm.

The winner was chosen in three rounds of voting. In the first round, SMS voting and a jury selected the top four. Those were:

In the second round, those four songs competed in two duels. In the first duel, Chanée & Tomas N'evergreen won over Simone while in the second duel, Bryan Rice won ahead of Silas & Kat. The remaining two songs competed in the final duel. Chanée & Tomas N'evergreen finally won over Bryan Rice.

The esctoday.com poll voters did not agree with the results in the national final. Poll winners Sukkerchok (26.3%) had not even make it to the second round while Chanée & Tomas N'evergreen had only finished fifth in the poll with 9.1%. Nevertheless, poll runner-up Bryan Rice (18.6%) was also the runner-up in the national final.

The 2010 esctoday.com National Final Awards will be held between April and May, which means between the national final season and the Eurovision Song Contest. We will repeat the same format with two rounds for nominations which was used this year – you can read how it works here. However, this time the individual polls for each country will always be held right after the national final, when the entries are still fresh. You can vote for your favourite performance not to qualify in the Danish national final here and for your favourite song not to qualify here.
