Germany: not much interest in the Song Contest

Not very encouraging news: in a representative poll, the German TV magazine TV Spielfilm found out that only 10% of the Germans are interested in watching the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. This might be connected with this year's German representative: only one in hundred respondends believes that Lou (photo) will win.

42% of the poll participants think that 'Let's get happy', the German entry 2003, will end as an also-ran. 20% would have prefered to send one of the Idols ('Deutschland sucht den Superstar') participants, like Alexander Klaws or Daniel Küblböck, to Riga. And finally, 36% of the respondends would have prefered to send a German popstar of international format, like Russia did this year with t.A.T.u.

Last year, 9.75 million Germans watched the Eurovision Song Contest from Tallin, giving broadcaster ARD an audience share of 38,2%.
