National final season 2010: What happened last week?

Counting from the first Maltese semi final on 9th December, the seventh week of the national final season for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 has passed. Five more shows were held bringing four countries closer to their entry for Oslo.

Finland

The third and last semi final of Eurovision laulukilpailu – Suomen karsinta was held on Friday. Another five acts presented their song and three of them were chosen by televoting to compete in the grand final next Saturday: Kuunkuiskaajat with Työlki ellää, Linn with Fatal moment and Eläkeläiset with Hulluna humpasta. Furthermor, the jury wildcard was announced. Out of the six acts that had finished fourth and fifth in the semi finals, Maria Lund from the third semi final was chosen to compete in the national final with her song Sydän ymmärtää.

Slovakia

The first semi final of the Slovak national selection Eurosong 2010 was held on Friday. Ten acts competed and four them were chosen by SMS voting to compete in one of the semi finals on 14th and 21st February. The qualifiers were Hrdza with Taká sa mi páÄ�i, Richard Ä�anaky & FBI with Zlomené krídla, TomášBezdeda with Na strechách domov and Michaella with O nás. Already on Sunday, Eurosong 2010 continued with another ten performers. This time the qualifiers were Mista with Emotions, Pavol Remenár, Klára & Liquid Error with Figaro, Peter Bažík with Paradise vs. Babylon and Get Explode with Blue sun.

Norway

The third and last semi final of MGP 2010 was held on Saturday. The final seven acts presented their songs and it was decided that Didrik Solli-Tangen will compete in the national with his song My heart is yours and so will A1 with their entry Don't want to lose you again. Mira Craig and Karoline Garfjell will get another chance this Saturday in Siste sjansen. Meanwhile, it has also been anounnced that the two additional acts to compete in the last chance round will be Skanksters and Johnny Hide.

Iceland

The third and last semi final of Söngvakeppni sjónvarpsins was held on Sturday. The last five acts presented their songs and the televoters decided that they want to see Hera Björk with Je ne sais quoi and Sjónni Brink with Waterslide again in the final on 6th February.
