National final season 2010: What happened last week?

Another week in the national final season for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 has passed. Let's take a look back at what happened in the sixth week of televised selections.

Malta

The sixth and last semi final of Malta Eurosong 2010 was held on Wednesday. Another six acts presented their songs. Earlier than expected, the results of all six semi finals were revealed on Saturday during the daily news programme. The draw of the running order took place the day after. A total of 20 songs will compete in the grand final on 20th February.

Finland

Euroviisut 2010 continued on Friday with the second of three semi finals being held. Five more acts presented their songs and televoting chose the top three to move forward to the national final on 30th January: Antti Kleemola with Sun puolella, Heli Kajo with Annankadun kulmassa and Sister Twister with Love at the first sight.

Norway

The host country held the second semi final of MGP 2010 on Saturday. Seven acts competed and the televoters decided that they want to see Alexander Stenerud in the final on 6th February with his song Give it to me as well as Maria Arredondo with The touch. Venke Knutson and Heine Totland will be given another chance in Siste sjansenon 30th January.

Iceland

The last show of the week was held on Saturday as well. The second semi final of Söngvakeppni sjónvarpsins was held in Iceland. Five acts competed and two of them were chosen by televoting to compete in the national final on 6th February: Jógvan Hansen with One more day and Hvanndalsbræður with Gleði og glens.
