The deadline to submit songs for the Spanish national selection for Eurovision 2010 was last night and the country's broadcaster, RTVE, has informed that 480 entries have been submitted, which means that nearly half of them were sent within the last 3 days of the submissions period. On Monday, January 18th, at 12:00 CET, the approved candidates will be announced, and the voting will immediately start.

As already announced, the voting period will last for three weeks, ending on February 5th at 23:59 CET. Every user will be able to cast 5 votes per day from a valid e-mail account. The whole process will be supervised by RTVE in order to avoid mass voting and cheating. Like last year, there will be a section on the RTVE website where the most voted acts will appear. The ranking will be updated several times per day, but not in real time. The votes will be shown once thay are validated.

The 10 most voted artists will qualify for the Spanish national final, which this year will feature only one show to be broadcast on a yet undetermined date. The winner will be decided with a combination of jury vote and public vote -SMS and phone calls- at a 50/50 split. The members of the jury will be announced at a later date.
