Norway: Third semi final contestants revealed

The seven artists to compete in the third semi final of the Norwegian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 have been revealed today. The line-up for MGP 2010 is therefore complete with a total of 21 acts and songs competing.

The third semi final will take place in Skien on 23rd January 2010. The following acts will compete (composer/lyricist in brackets):

  6. Karoline Garfjell Tokyo night

  7. A1 Don't wanna lose you again
    (Ben Adams, Mark Read, Christian Ingebrigtsen, David Eriksen)

Mira Craig wrote the Norwegian entry in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Hold on be strong finished fifth in the final performed by Maria Haukaas Storeng. She writes and produces all of her own material and she is popular both in Norway and the United States.

Fred Endresen returns to MGP havin already finished 4th last year with his band Publiners. The song he will perform this year is described as a "rock song with country elements".

Belinda Braza is actually a choreographer and dancer and she has her MGP debut as a lead singer this year. In 1999 however, she was a backing dancer for Stig van Eijk both in the Norwegian national final and in the international final in Jerusalem.

Didrik Solli-Tangen is an opera singer who is als a good friend of 2009 Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak. His entry is described as a "powerful ballad".

The Diamond is a boy band of six and they have their MGP debut this year. Their song is described as "lively and fresh".

Karoline Garfjell reached the semi final of the talent search Idol in 2004. Her entry is described as "cool electronic" music.

A1 used to be a popular band until they disbanded in 2002. They reunited this summer and are now going to take part in MGP with a song from their new album.

Norway won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 with Alexanders Rybak's Fairytale and is therefore directly qualified for the final on the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 being the host country.
