Estonia: Laura goes electronic

Last week, Ultra, Laura Põldvere's second CD album was released in Estonia, on the Moonwalk label. She represented Estonia in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest as part of the group Suntribe and competed in the Estonian national finals another three times as a soloist.

The record has 14 tracks, which are electronic pop songs, mostly in Estonian. The CD includes Destiny, the song she performed at the Estonian national final last Saturday.To promote the album, Laura gives performances in big Estonian discotheques. She was in Tartu and Pärnus last weekend and will be in Tallinn’s Klub Hollywood this Saturday, 19th December.

Laura tried her luck at the Estonian national selection four times on three occasions. First, she competed in 2005, with two songs. She performed Moonwalk at the national final and placed 2nd, while the song Let’s get loud, which she sang as a leadsinger of girlband Suntribe, won the ticket to Kiev but couldn’t qualify for the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Laura also took part at Eurolaul 2007 with Sunflowers and came 3rd. Earlier this year, she was back for Eesti Laul but her entry Destiny couldn’t do better than 3rd again despite winning the televote in the first round.
