A winner has been crowned in Moldova! SunStroke Project has won the country’s national selection O Melodi pentru Europa 2017 and will represent the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv this May.
Following last night’s semi-final show which saw a total of 8 acts being eliminated from the competition, tonight saw the remaining 8 acts performing for a final time in a bid to represent Moldova at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
This evening saw the return of the country’s 2010 representative SunStroke Project in the national selection along with a composition written by the man who has produced a grand total of 24 Eurovision entries to date, Ralph Siegel.
The results
Tonight’s winner was determined via a combined 50% televote and 50% jury vote, the same process used in last night’s semi-final show.
With SunStroke Project winning the jury vote, it was down to the public televote to determine whether the winner would remain the same or whether a different entry will go on to represent the nation.
Following the combination of vote, SunStroke Project went on to win O Melodi pentru Europa 2017 with the song Hey mamma and will fly to Kyiv this May for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. Check out Moldova’s entry below!
