The Azerbaijani national broadcaster, İTV, has announced an open call for songs for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place this coming May in the host city of Kyiv.

Having confirmed in December that Diana Hajiyeva, also known under her stage name Dihaj, had been confirmed as the Azerbaijani representative at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, İTV has now opened song submissions for the nation.

All song submissions must comply with the usual Eurovision rules, with all information including the composers, audio recordings and lyrics to be included within the e-mail.

Composers of all nationalities welcome!

There are no restrictions on the nationality of the composers, meaning that submissions from composers all around the world will be valid and taken into consideration.

Submissions can be sent to İTV via the email [email protected] and must be submitted by the 10 February.

An official announcement regarding the Azerbaijani entry for the 2017 competition is expected in the weeks to follow.

Hajiyeva and Azerbaijan will compete in the first half of the first semi-final at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest on the 9 May, in a bid to qualify to the Grand Final of the Kyiv-hosted event on the 13 May.
