Hungary’s national selection kicked off tonight with the first heat. Ten songs participated but only six got a ticket to the semifinal stage.

Tonight’s show, hosted by Csilla Tatár & Levente Harsányi, saw an initial total of five qualifiers chosen by a mix of jury (80%) and app voting (20%), while a sixth qualifier will be chosen afterwards by televoting only.

The first five qualifiers, chosen by mixture of jury and app votes, were:

  • Leander KillsÉlet (Jury votes: 9, 8, 8, 9 / Public vote: 6 / Combined; 40)
  • Roma SoulNyitva a ház (Jury votes: 9, 8, 8, 9 / Public vote: 6 / Combined; 40)
  • Viki SinghRain (Jury votes: 7, 9, 8, 9 / Public vote: 6 / Combined; 39)
  • Spoon 21Deák (Jury votes: 7, 9, 8, 9 / Public vote: 6 / Combined; 39)
  • David HendersonWhite shadows (Jury votes: 7, 8, 8, 9 / Public vote: 5 / Combined; 37)

Then televoting only was used in order to pick the sixth qualifier, which was:

  • BenjiKarcok (Jury votes: 6, 8, 7, 9 / Public vote: 6 / Combined; 36)

That means that Calidora, Kata Csondor, Rocktenors and The Wings were all eliminated from the selection, having received the fewest amount of votes in tonight’s show.

Next Saturday, an additional set of 10 songs will compete for another six places at the semifinal stage.
