The Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held this afternoon in Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Seventeen countries participated and Georgia’s Mariam Mamadashvili took the first place with Mzeo (The sun). This is Georgia’s third victory in the contest, after winning in 2008 and 2011.

Georgia won the Adult Jury votes and Armenia won the hearts of the Kids Jury. However, it was not enough for Armenia to catch up. The full results are as follows (in brackets: division to Adult Jury+Kids Jury):

So far, Georgia did not host a Junior Eurovision as the 2009 contest was held in Kyiv and the 2012 edition in Amsterdam. The host of next year’s contest will be revealed in due course.
