The city of Kyiv is gearing up and getting prepared for the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. The magnificent Ukrainian capital is working round the clock in its quest to host the competition next year. The countdown clock is ticking! 200 days to go to the Grand Final!

Eurovision is coming to Kyiv for the 2nd time ESC history and for the fourth time if you count the JESC.
NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster, the EBU and the City of Kyiv are working together hand in hand in order to bring you an amazing experience next May. Lots of meetings have been held and many more are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks in Kyiv.
Hosting a Eurovision Song Contest is not an easy task and can be very challenging. The competition has grown immensely since its birth in 1956, hence the host city has to meet all the requirements and key deadlines in order to organise and host the event.
In the coming weeks we will get to know more details regarding the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest as the EBU’s Reference Group is scheduled to visit the 2017 ESC host city. The Reference Group is the governing body of the Eurovision Song Contest and is in charge of taking the key decisions when it comes to the format of the show.
NTU is currently working on the creative concepts of the show including the stage design. Ticket sales will kick off once the stage design plan is finalised and confirmed.
Last week a special EBU delegation visited Kyiv and met up with NTU and Kyiv City officials. NTU has launched a competition for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest theme art and slogan. So far only the main Eurovision venue has been confirmed, the other side Eurovision venues ie: Euroclub, Eurovision Village, Opening Ceremony are yet to be finalised and confirmed.
The proposed venue for the 2017 Euroclub is CEK Parkovy, whilst the proposed location for the Red Carpet is the Sofia Square in Kyiv.

An estimated 40 plus countries are expected to join the Eurovision party next year in Kyiv. The EBU will be releasing the complete list of participant countries and 2017 ESC rules and regulations in due course. So far 40 countries have confirmed their presence in next years competition.
The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv on 9, 11 and 13 May.
