Eurovision 2017: The 6 candidate cities are getting ready!

The countdown for the Eurovision 2017 host city bidding race televised debate has kicked off in Ukraine. A total of 6 cities will battle it out at the Battle of the City tomororow. Preparations are in full swing in Ukraine for what promises to be both an exciting and nail biting race.

All 6 candidate cities will be presenting thier respective bids to the special Eurovision Committee and will get a chance to showcase their proposals. The debate will be hosted by none other than the celebrated Ukrainian television host Timur Miroshnychenko.

Timur Miroshnychenko will be responsible to host several televised special programes featuring the build up to the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine, including the 2017 ESC host city bidding race.

Timur is also among the hot favourites to bag the honorable task to host the contest next year in Ukraine.

The excitement is rising as the on going preparations are in full steam for the Battle of the Cities televised special scheduled to air tomorrow,Wednesday 20 July, on NTU Channel 1 at 17:30 CET. The debate will be held at NTU’s studio in Kyiv.

A total of 6 cities have officially submitted their respective bids to host the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine next year.

The 2017 Eurovision host city bidding race kicked off on 24 June and will conclude on 1 August, and will consist of 4 stages.

On 21 July NTU and the special Eurovision 2017 Committee will whittle down the number of potential host cities from 6 to 2. Hereafter NTU, the ESC 2017 Committee and the EBU will inspect and evaluate the 2 finalist cities in the race, thus visiting the potential venues and infrastructure etc.

The 2017 Eurovision host city will be announced during a special press conference on 1 August.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.
