NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has confirmed today that Kherson is the sixth city to officially apply to host the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

Preparations in Ukraine for Eurovision 2017 are in full swing as the country gears up to welcome to Eurovision bandwagon next year.

Kherson thus joins Kharkiv, Odessa, Kyiv, Dnipro , Lviv in the list of Ukrainian cities that have officially applied to host the 2017 ESC.

Kherson is located in the south of Ukraine, on the shores of the Black Sea and Dnieper River and is a key Ukrainian port city.

The complete list of bidding cities that have applied to host the 2017 ESC will be revealed by NTU on 8 July after 18:00 local time.

The 2017 Eurovision host city bidding race kicked off on 24 June and will conclude on 1 August, it will consist of 4 stages. Cities wishing to officially bid to host the 2017 ESC edition can officially apply until 8 July.

Bidding cities have to comply with the rules and regulations of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and the requirements to host the event.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.
