YLE, Finninish national broadcaster has released the rules and regulations for the 2017 Finnish Eurovision national selection UMK.

Artists and composers wishing to compete at the 2017 Finnish Eurovision national selection can send in their applications to the Finnish broadcaster from 1-5 September. You can check out the rules for UMK 2017 in English here.

A special jury/committee will be responsible to select the competing candidates/entries after evaluating all the submitted applications.

The names of the lucky hopefuls will be revealed in January whilst the 2017 Finnish national final is scheduled to be held in February.

The 2017 Finnish entry will be selected via a 50/50 jury- televoting deliberation.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 16, 18 and 20 May.
