Romania : Elena Gheorghe releases official video clip

Elena Gheorghe, this year's representantive of Romania, has released the official music video for her song The Balkan Girls. It was presented during today's show Danutz S.R.L. on TVR 1.

Elena Gheorghe is a famous singer in her home country. She started her musical career as the female lead vocalist of the latino band Mandinga and topped the Romanian music charts with the hit 'Soarele meu'. Elena tried her luck at the Eurovision Song Contest national selection of Romania back in 2005, when along with her ex-band, Manding, tried to win a ticket to Kyiv.

She officially presented her Eurovision preview video clip at Dan Bittman's show, Danutz S.R.L. on TVR 1. Dan Bittman represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 and placed 21st with 14 points. His Eurovision song 'Dincolo de nori' is still a hit in Romania. During the show, Elena stated that the percussion intro which was added recently to the song will be used at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 and she promised that she will do her best to win the contest and to give Romania the chance of hosting this event after 10 years of waiting.
