Eirodziesma 2009 was over a few minutes ago and the Latvian verdict is to send Intars Busulis to the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with Sastregums, the only song in Latvian performed tonight.

Ten acts competed tonight and three of them were sent to the Super Final. Those were:
1.Intars Busulis- Sastregums
2.Natalija Tumsevica – Dynamite
3.Annija & Kristina – Angel of mine

After a second round of voting, Intars Busulis was announced as the next Latvian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest followed by Annija and Kristina. Sastregums is an uptempo song written and penned by Krlis Lcis and Jnis Elsbergs respectively.

Intars is a happy-go-lucky person who started off his musical career together with his sister performing the song Moustached flower, about a cat planted in a flower bed. His first official debut, though, was with the vocal ensemble Talsu Spridisi while studying music at the Talsi School of Music. Despite his young age, Intars can boast a very full professional life where he has been involved in various aspects of the musical world. From taking part to numerous jazz festivals in the Baltics, France and Canada to playing parts in musicals such as Notre Dame de Paris, Autoplantet and Mass to various Cabaret projects.

Intars admits that he loves to compete: "Yes, I admit, I like taking part in different contests. I consider that to be a great experience and a possibility to meet new people, get new impressions. It doesn't matter if I don't agree with those people or we think different, the point is – it's great to see how different we all can be while doing the same thing." he states.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
