Georgia: Stephane & 3G to Eurovision

Tonight, the Georgian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was held. Ten acts competed and the jury and SMS voters decided to send Stephane & 3G to Moscow with the song We don't wanna put in written by Stefane Mgebrishvili and Bibi Kvachadze. Bibi Kvachadze has also written the lyrics for the first Georgian entry in the contest in 2007, Visionary dream.

The top three in the national final were:

The esctoday.com poll voters partly agreed with the voters in the national final. While the runaway poll winner Tika Patsatsia did not even finish in the top three of the final, the poll runner-up (24.3%) won the national final.

Georgia took part in the Eurovision Song Contest twice so far making it to the final on both occasions. In 2007, Sopho finished 12th with her entry Visionary dream while Diana Gurtskaya reached 11th place last year with Peace will come. In 2009, the country will take part in the first semi final on 12th May.
