Tonight, the Moldovan national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was held. 20 acts competed and the jury and televoting decided to send Nelly Ciobanu to Moscow with the song Hora din Moldova.
Nelly Ciobanu got the highest possible amount of points, namely 36, which means she got twelve points from both juries and from the televoters. She will be the fifth Moldovan entrant in the Eurovision Song Contestand shefollows in the footsteps of Geta Burlacu, who represented the country in 2008 but finished 11th in the first semi finalwith her entry A century of love thus not making it tothe final.
The esctoday.com poll voters agreed with the choice as Nelly Ciobanu won the poll by a landslide with 33.0% of the votes.
