The Lithuanian final has just ended and the (third time) lucky one to get the ticket to Moscow is Sasha Son aka Dima Shavrov with Pasiklydes zmogus.

Tonight's runaway winner of the Lithuanian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 is Sasha Son. Sasha tried his luck for the third time this year in the Lithuanian preselection and this time made it with Pasiklydes zmogus.During the voting Sasha Son got all twelve points from all Lithuanian regions voting.

When he was just 12 years old, SAsha Son aka Dima Shavrov was a huge star in the Lithuanian music scene. His enormous hit Mama is still one of the most popular Lithuanian songs. To date Dima is the youngest artist to have won the prestigious music award "Bravo" for the song of the year with Mama.

At fifteen Dima left to the United Kingdom where he went to school and got a musical education. Almost ten years later he returned to Lithuania. In 2007 Dima together with his band mate, Hywel, participated in the national preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest but didn't manage to qualify for the final. The following year, with a brand new nickname, Sasha Son ( in Russian – Sasha's dream), Dima took part once more with Miss Kiss which ended up third in the final.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
