Tonight is the second semi final in the Swedish selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Moscow, Russia in May. Sweden will participate in the first Semi Final on the 12th May. The show begins at 20:00 CET.

Song 1. Lili & Susie – Show me heaven (2nd with 19.4% in the esctoday.com poll)

The song begins with Lilli and Susie on stage wearing black trousers and white tops. The song is a fast pop song which may go down well in Eurovision. It is a very energetic performance and a song that is typically Swedish in Eurovision. This is a dance / pop song that many people of Europe are fond of.

Song 2. Lasse Lindh & Badet – Jag ska slåss i dina kvarter (8th with 1.7% in the esctoday.com poll)

The song begins with very energetic dancing and shouting from the lead singer. The band are on stage with their instruments. This is not typical of the songs that represent Sweden, maybe the Swedish people are looking for something different this year, if so, this could have a chance of making it to Moscow. All performers are wearing black. The background is Red, black and white.

Song 3. Jennifer Brown – Never been here before (4th with 9.4% on the esctoday.com poll)

The song begins with the violins playing and Jennifer begins to sing, she is wearing a silver top with black trousers. Vocals are strong and the song is emotional. This could make it to the final. A good song and good performance.

Song 4. H.E.A.T. – 1000 miles (6th with 6.7% in the esctoday.com poll)

The song begins with guitars playing. This is a very powerful rock song, with very powerful vocals. If the Swedish people were looking for a Rock song to represent them in Moscow this could very well be their choice. Very good guitar solo’s half way through the song. Really energetic and powerful performance from H.E.A.T.

Song 5. Markoolio – Kärlekssång från mig (7th with 3.3% in the esctoday.com poll)

Dressed in a red velvet suit with a red shirt and a red rose in his pocket, the song begins. Markoolio gives a somewhat comedy performance whilst performing a love song, a man dressed in a white elvis costume appears on stage and steps out of a box and catches on fire near the end of the song. Maybe the backing act was taking away peoples attention from the song?

Song 6. Amy Diamond – It's my life (5th with 6.7% in the esctoday.com poll)

Amy begins the song wearing a coat clearly inspired by Linda Wagenmakers from 2000’s Eurovision, only shorter. This is a happy pop song, quite different from her entry last year, but Amy gives a very strong performance and seems to enjoy singing the song. This could do well, it’s a strong song and is accompanied by a strong performance.

Song 7. Cookies 'n' Beans – What if (3rd with 16.% in the esctoday.com poll)

The song begins slowly to the strumming of a guitar. This country ballad is really simple but yet so effective. The lyrics are beautiful and they suit the melody perfectly. This simple ballad could do very well in eurovision, with the emotion the girls are showing during this performance. With the emotion, power of the vocals and strength of the song, this could do well.

Song 8. Måns Zelmerlöw– Hope & glory (1st with 36.7%in the esctoday.com poll)

Mans walks onto a pitch black stage, as he begins to sing lights flash. He is wearsing a black suit with a bow tie, the song is powerful and is a typical Mans song. His backing singers are all female and are dancing in a provocative way, with a strip half way through the performance from the girls. Vocals are great and song is strong, this too, could do very well.
