TVE the Spanish national broadcaster has officially announced the dates of the Spanish Eurovision semifinals and final Eurovision 2009: El Retorno. The Spanish broadcaster will be airing all 4 shows live on TVE and a live webcast will be available for viewers and fans overseas. The galas will be held at the Teatro-Casino de L'Aliança de Poble Nou in Barcelona on the 14th, 21st, 28th of February and on the 7th of March, as esctoday.com revealed 15 days ago.
Alaska and Miguel Serrano will be the hosts of the Spanish semifinals and final. The Spanish national broadcaster has put in a lot of effort and hard work in organizing the forthcoming Spanish Eurovision national selection. A total of30 candidates will be competing in the semifinals (10 in each semifinal). 20 of which qualified directly to compete in the semifinals and 10 acts that had to go through a special audition. The top 3 candidates from each semifinal will qualify to the grand final, thus making the number to 9 acts. These 9 acts willresults from the split system50/50 jury and televoting. The tenth act will be elected solely by the Spanish public via a Second Chance Contest televote, which will be held in between the 3rd semifinal and grand final.
Each of the shows will have a godmother or a godfather, whilst the Spanish broadcaster has many surprises in store along with surprise performances. Josep Piella will be the stylist in charge of the shows, he will look after the candidates makeup, wardrobe and grooming.
The Spanish national selection shows will be aired live on TVE and are likely to be aired on TVE International via satellite in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
