Tonight, Denmark will hold its national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Ten entrants will perform their songs and the winner will become Denmark's 38th representative in the competion in Moscow.

The show

The show to be broadcast on DR 1 will start at 20:00 CET andit will be held at the Conference Centre in Herning. The programme is to be hosted by Felix Smith and Birthe Kjær, who represented Denmark in 1989 finishing thrid with Vi maler byen rød. In a first round of voting, SMS voting and a jury (50% each) will send four songs to the next round, where the four songs will compete in two pairs. Two songs will then reach the 'super final', where the winner will be chosen by SMS voting alone.

In 2008, Denmark was represented by Simon Mathew, who finished third in the second semi final and 15th in the final with All night long. In 2009, the country will take part in the second semi final on 14th May.
