Eurovision: 60th Anniversary website nominated for the Internet Oscars

The 60th Anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest received a special treatment, including a specific website. The effort might pay off this year with an award… And you can help Eurovision make it!

Last year the 60th Eurovision Song Contest gathered a fair load of attention. The occasion called for a nostalgic look back, of course, which was put in motion with the 60th Anniversary website.

The webpage has now been nominated for a Webby Award in the Event Website category, as eurovision.tv announced. The awards are a recognition by the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and they are considered as the Oscars of the Internet.

About the nomination the Executive Supervisor of the Contest Jon Ola Sand said that we are very proud of tjis nomination, not only because of the acknowledgement of the Academy, but also because it is another opportunity to remind millions of people around the world about the Eurovision Song Contest’s amazing legacy and its distinct public service values.

Other nominees for the Event Website award are MTV VMAs and Vanity Fair.

You can vote for the 60th Anniversary website in the Webby Awards webpage until 21 April.

The Eurovision Song Contest celebrated its 60th edition last year in Vienna, Austria. Sweden won for the 6th time with Måns Zelmerlöw singing Heroes.
