Anyone for a little caraoke?  Let the Tolmachevy Sisters, who represented Russia at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, show the way…

The hugely popular Carpool Karaoke format has driven into Russia, and Maria (Masha) and Anastasia (Nastya) embark upon an adorable journey during which they sing such Eurovision classics as Waterloo (ABBA, Sweden, 1974) and Rise like a phoenix (Conchita Wurst, Austria, 2014).

Watch, sing along and enjoy the fun and insight from the sisters (English subtitles are available via the YouTube setting):

The Tolmachevy Sisters first appeared on the Eurovision scene in 2006, participating in Junior Eurovision at the age of just nine.  Their Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry Vesenniy jazz (Spring Jazz) won the competition with an impressive Grand Final total of 154 points.  Masha and Nastya were to return to Eurovision eight years later, this time at the senior event, staged in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Their entry Shine assured Russia of another top ten placing, finishing in seventh place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

Carrying the hopes for Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm is superstar Sergey Lazarev, whose entry You are the only one is a favourite to win with the bookmakers.

I have been a Eurovision fan since childhood - I remember being so fascinated by the scoreboard! I loved the different flags and languages. My favourite national final is Eesti Laul, though I enjoy watching every one! Eurovision has given me so much in my life and it is a pleasure to write about my favourite contest for ESC Today.
