Tonight is the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2016! Who will win the Swedish music extravaganza, and with victory the right to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in May?
About the show
An SVT (Sveriges Television) production, Melodifestivalen 2016 commenced on Saturday 4 February. The last few weeks have seen four semi-finals and one second chance round encompassing five different cities and a variety of guest hosts alongside regular host Gina Dirawi. The Friends Arena in Sweden’s capital city Stockholm will host the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2016, where Gina Dirawi will be joined by teenage television personality William Spetz.
The running order of the Grand Final is as follows:
- Panetoz – Håll om mig hart
- Lisa Ajax – My heart wants me dead
- David Lindgren – We are your tomorrow
- SaRaha – Kizunguzungu
- Oscar Zia – Human
- Ace Wilder – Don’t worry
- Robin Bengtsson – Constellation prize
- Molly Sandén – Youniverse
- Boris René – Put your love on me
- Frans – If I were sorry
- Wiktoria – Save me
- Samir & Viktor – Bada nakna
The winner of Melodifestivalen 2016 will be determined by a 50/50 combination of viewer votes (cast by telephone, app and SMS) and eleven international Jury votes.

Last year saw Måns Zelmerlöw take the Melodifestivalen title, with his winning entry Heroes going all the way to triumph at the Vienna-hosted Eurovision Song Contest of 2015. As a result of his victory, Sweden will host the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place at the Globe Arena in Stockholm on the 10, 12 and 14 May.
