DR announces songs for Melodi Grand Prix 2001

10 songs will take place on stage in Herning at the Danish Melodi Grand Prix 2001. The national final will be a special event, because the Danish want to have such a great act as last year. Will they win again ?

Søren Poppe and Stefan Nielsen had a small hit in their country with “Ved du hva” last summer. “Rollo and King” is their artist name. Another well known name is Sanne Gottlieb. She became 3rd last year in the Danish Melodi Grand Prix with “Uden dig”, a song written by Lise Cabble and Mette Mathiessen. Helge Hengelbrecht wrote the Danish song for the Eurovision Song Contest 1987, “En lille melodi”. Also, Johnny Hansen is a well known singer in Denmark. Flemisch acapella singers Voice Male will have a Danish “brother”: “BaSix”. Also in the Dutch national final there will sing a group in acapella (Montzuma”s Revenge).
