The Spanish branch of OGAE will be holding its third annual Congress on Saturday, October 4th at the Rafael Ventas Hotel in Madrid. A number of Spanish Eurovision artists are invited to attend the event, where topics such as the 2008 Spanish national selection Salvemos Eurovisión, this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade or next year's in Moscow, to name a few, will be discussed by the fans. The get-together event will end with a Eurovision party in a well-known pub.
The meeting will last from 10:00 to 20:00 h, including a break between 14:00 and 16:30. A video summarising this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade will inaugurate the schedule of the third annual Congress of OGAE Spain. Then, the president of OGAE Spain, José Juan Santana, will go on to mention the novelties concerning OGAE, such as creation of new clubs, dismantlement of others and sanctions, together with the rules to get Eurovision tickets through OGAE International. Besides that, the first ever Eurofan Calendar, for 2009, is going to be presented.
This year's Spanish preselection Salvemos Eurovisión will surely be one of the most talked about topics next Saturday, and the runner-up of the competition, Coral, who tried to represent Spain with Todo está en tu mente, will then discuss with the fans. Coral was selected by OGAE Spain to represent the country in this year's OGAE Second Chance Contest too. Besides that, the Spanish branch of OGAE is the organiser of the 2008 OGAE Song Contest. The entries participating in both competitions will be revised.
OGAE Spain has also started the preparations for Moscow 2009. Fans will have the chance to discuss the several possibilities to travel to the Russian capital in May: flights, accomodation (hotels, apartments), excursions in the city, etc. are surely one of the issues the fans want to know about most.
More guests are also expected to attend the meeting. Those are Miki (Spain 1977), the new duo Baccara -one of them, Maite Mateos, represented Luxembourg in 1978 together with María Mendiola-, and Massiel, Spanish winner in 1968 with the song La, la, la. OGAE Spain will celebrate the 40th anniversary of her victory, and Massiel will talk about her role in the 2007 Spanish national selection Misión Eurovisión, and her opinion about Eurovision 2008.
The meeting will end at 20.00 h. OGAE Spain members will then leave the Rafael Ventas Hotel for the MeDaIgual pub in the popular district of Chueca in Madrid to hold their traditional Eurovision party. The club asks those attending the party for punctuality.
