Former UK Pop Idol contestant, Hayley Evetts wants to sing for Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Hayley Evetts might not be a name that springs to your mind straightaway, but she was actually one of the final contestants back in the United Kingdom’s version of Pop Idol in 2002 which was eventually won by Will Young.

Her song, Brand new day is written by Martyn Baylay who also wrote the 2002 UK entry Come back for fellow Pop Idol-turned-Eurovision star Jessica Garlick. Jessica still holds the best result for the UK in the 21st century as she finished in 3rd place in Estonia.

The Romanian national selection kicks off on the 4 March with the final taking place on 6 March.

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
