The first Semifinal of Söngvakeppnin 2016 has just ended and Iceland has picked the first three acts that will participate in the Grand Final on February 20th.
The qualifiers
- Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir – Raddirnar
- Karlotta Sigurðardóttir – Óstöðvandi
- Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir & Hjörtur Traustason – Hugu minn er
The three non-qualifiers will get another chance as after the second semifinal will be held, an expert jury will award one of the six non-qualifiers a final spot.
Next week, a further 6 acts will compete in the second semi-final of the national selection where another 3 participants will qualify to the grand final of the event. Six acts will compete in the final of the selection along with a wildcard entry selected by the expert jury.
