Iceland will celebrate 30 years of Eurovision Song Contest participation in 2016. The Icelandic broadcaster RUV has released a four DVD set with the best of Iceland in Eurovision to commemorate this anniversary.
The DVDs include the story of Iceland in Eurovision as well as of Söngvakeppnin, the Icelandic national selection, which began as early as in Iceland’s first participation in 1986 and was in use for selecting the country’s representative to Eurovision in every year except for between 1995-1999.
The story itself is discussed on the first three DVDs while the fourth includes videos of the Icelandic entries and memorable songs that took part in Söngvakeppnin and deserved to win.
