by Stella Floras 145 views

Elnur Huseynov and Samir Javadzade will be representing Azerbaijan in its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. The two young singers won the Land of fire final and now have embarked on a promo tour throughout Europe. We caught up with them in Athens where they came to participate in the Greek final and got to know them and their song better.

Elnur and Samir visited Athens as guests of the Greek broadcaster, ERT, and they performed their 2008 Eurovision Song Contest entry Day after day during the country's national final on Wednesday 27th February.

We caught up with them at their hotel and they were very happy to answer our questions about the choice of their song, their music, their plans for Belgrade and themselves. What made them choose this particular song? Will there be changes in the song in Belgrade? Will they keep working together after the contest? That and much more you can watch below in the Elnur Huseynov and Samir Javadzade interview.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
