Cyprus: John Karayiannis to perform at Pop Meets Opera

The 2015 Cypriot Eurovision representative is all set to conquer the hearts of both the Austrian and internationl audience when he will take the Eurovision stage in Vienna. Apart from his Eurovision performance the public will be able to see him perform at Vienna’s State Opera on Sunday 17 May at the Pop Meets Opera.

Pop Meets Opera will be a special show that will be held at the Wiener StaatsOpera in Vienna and has grand line up of internationally acclaimed artists and many of the 2015 Eurovision participants. Placido Domingo, Juan Diego Flores, Conchita Wurst (2014 Austrian Eurovision winner), Boggie (Hungary 2015), Molly Sterling (Ireland 2015), Morland and Debrah Scarlett (Norway 2015), Nina Sublatti (Georgia 2015).

The Eurovision hopefuls from Hungary, Georgia, Cyprus, Ireland and Norway will be treating the audience with their respective Eurovision entries at the concert. John Karayiannis will be not be on stage alone, he will be joined by Ioanna Avraam when he graces the stage with his Eurovision entry One thing I should have done!

Pop Meets Opera!

As Vienna is getting geared up and ready to host the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest next May, the city’s State Opera will also be joining in the Eurovision celebrations and will host a special matinee show Pop Meets Opera on Saturday 17 May featuring none other than Placido Domingo and Conchita Wurst, thus Building Bridges between diferrent musical genres and cultures. The show will be held in Vienna’s epic Opera House at 12:00 CET and will be streamed live worldwide. The show will be televised on ORF 3 at 20:15 CET on the same night.

The Queen of Austria aka Conchita Wurst (2014 Eurovision winner) will be joining forces with Spanish world acclaimed tenor Placido Domingo at Vienna’s State Opera on Sunday 17 May where they will perform together.

Placido Domingo and Conchita Wurst will be joined by Vienna’s Philarmonic Orchestra, Vienna State Opera’s Orchestra and  musicians ensemble, and various 2015 Eurovision participating acts.

Eurovision fans and visitors will also be able to view the show for free outside the Opera as the it will be projected on the walls of the square outside the Opera House.
