The 2013 Greek representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, Koza Mostra, will perform at several festivals in The Netherlands in honour of Bevrijdingsdag.
Koza Mostra, which consists of members Elias Kozas (vocals), Alexis Archontis (drums), Stelios Siomos (guitar), Dimitris Christonis (bass guitar), Christos Kalaintzopoulos (accordeon) and Tasoulis Valkanis (trumpet), combines punk-, rock-, and ska-music with traditional tunes, such as rebetiko. At the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö the group performed the song Alcohol Is Free, together with rebetiko-singer Agathonas Iakovidis, earning a respectable 6th place with 152 points.
Koza Mostra will visit The Netherlands on Bevrijdingsdag (Liberation Day), the national Dutch feast-day, on the 5th of May. This is a very apt visit to the Low Countries, as Koza Mostra represents authenticity, freedom and optimism, as shown by their Eurovision-entry, Alcohol Is Free. Koza Mostra’s visit to The Netherlands to mutually celebrate peace and liberty through music is a token of European unity, beyond political borders.
Koza Mostra’s Bevrijdingsdag-schedule on the 5th of May (CET):
15.00, Bevrijdingsfestival Province Overijssel, Zwolle (Podium Abbott/Abbott Stage)
20.00, Bevrijdingsfestival Province Gelderland, Wageningen
