SVT, the Swedish broadcaster, has confirmed that they are going to broadcast both semi finals of this year's Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Belgrade on 20 and 22 May 2008.

When most broadcasters are holding back until the day of the draw for the allocation of the countries in the two semi finals to decide which one(s) they are going to broadcast, Sweden goes ahead and schedules both semi finals to be aired live through SVT1.

The full broadcast schedule on SVT 1 is as follows:

SVT 1 Tuesday May 20th 21.00: semi final 1
SVT 1 Thursday May 22nd 21.00: semi final 2
SVT 1 Saturday May 24th 21.00 final

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
