The draw to determine in which of the two semi finals each participating country will be placed in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest will take place on 28th January, at 13.00-14.00 CET, in Belgrade. The draw will be webcast live through eurovision.tv. RIK, the Cypriot broadcaster, has, so far, announced that they will also be airing the draw live.
According to the new format of the Eurovision Song Contest, all participating countries apart from the winner and the Big Four (France, Germany, Spain and the UK) will be split in two semi finals. The drawto decide in which of the two each country participates will take place on the 28th January, 13.00-14.00 CET,in Belgrade.
Thirty eight countries have already been placed in six pots, according to their voting habits as determined by statistical data since the introduction of the semi final in 2004. The draw will be hosted by famous Serbian athletes and it will be webcast live by eurovision.tv. RIK, the Cypriot broadcaster, have also announced that they will also be airing the draw live.
�eljko Joksimović, runner up of the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, will be a special guest at the show and he will also conduct the draw which will determine which of the two semi finals the Big Four and host country, Serbia, will have to broadcast and vote in.
The running order of the two semi finals and the final will be decided by a second draw to be held during the Heads of Delegation meeting on 17-18 March in Belgrade.
