Sixty years of the Eurovision Song Contest are to be celebrated tomorrow at Riga’s Eurovision Pre-Party.

As well as participants from this year’s contest, the party will see performances from some of the most memorable stars from the last sixty years of Eurovision. Special guests include past winners Alexander Rybak (Norway, 2009) and Eldar Gasimov (Azerbaijan, 2011), as well as Zlata Ogenevich who represented Ukraine in 2013 and Latvia’s very own Marie N who won Eurovision crown in 2002, the country’s only win to date.

The party is hosted by OGAE Latvia and will be held in the capital’s Palladium Concert Hall. OGAE Latvia’s president, Miroslavs Kodis, said:

We are so happy, that Latvian fans will have an opportunity to Celebrate 60 years of Eurovision and to meet their idols! 3 Eurovision Winners and special guests will perform at our Party. And for sure, we are waiting for this year’s ESC participants to present their songs. Our celebration is open to every Eurovision lovers. So come to Riga, let’s celebrate together!

This year’s contestants due to perform include Latvia’s Aminata, Mélanie René from Switzerland, Monika and Vaidas from Lithuania, Nina Sublatti from Georgia, Eduard Romanyuta from Moldova, Monika Kuszynska from Poland and Elnur Huseynov from Azerbaijan.

The event kicks off tomorrow, 10 April, at 20:00 local time. Tickets can be bought online
