The Norwegian rock band Crash! are already known to Eurovision fans thanks to their participation in last year's edition of Melodi Grand Prix in Norway. Their entry Wannabe finished third behind the runner-up Jannicke Abrahamsen and the winner Guri Schanke. The band will make their second attempt this year, in the MGP's second semi final to be held on January 18th, with the song Get up, composed by Wig Wam's Teeny. Crash!'s guitarist Remo has exclusively spoken out to The Schlager Systems blog.

Remo says about Wannabe, Crash!'s entry to MGP 2007, as a song that "gets stuck on your mind as soon as you hear it". The band was one of the hot favourite acts in NRK's preselection for Eurovision 2007. They finally won the third place, but Remo tresures good memories from their performance: "To stand in front of 5,000 people and one million watching you on TV is a dream coming true".

It seems that their experience last year left a good taste in their mouths since they will make a second attempt right within a few days in the second heat of the 2008 Melodi Grand Prix, to be held on January 18th. "We can’t wait to do it again this year", states Remo. Crash! will perform the song Get up, composed by Wig Wam's Trond Teeny Holter, who wanted the band to sing it. Teeny is also behind the new CD of Crash!. They have been working on it for one year and a half ago now.

Remo also stresses on the huge importance that the Internet is getting on the promotion of new singers: "Sites like youtube, myspace, facebook, purevolume and many many many more are a huge plus to bands who want to get their name out to people worldwide". In addition, Remo, asked about the best of being part of Crash! emphasises their love to play live: "We are definitely a live band. We got a high energy on stage, and we just love to get the people in the crowd smiling".
