Tonight saw the grand final of MESC 2015 air on the Maltese national broadcaster TVM. Fourteen acts competed for the honour to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna next year, but it was Amber who emerged victorious.

Amber topped the vote with her song after the scores from the five jurors, as well as the public vote which acted as a sixth juror, were combined. She was the run away winner on the night, ahead of former Maltese representative Glen Vella, Christabelle and Franklin.

The result means Amber wins the right to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest next year, however not necessarily with the entry she performed tonight. New rules brought in for this years edition of Malta’s Eurovision Song Contest selection process allow for the winning artist to change their song should they choose.

Amber succeeds Firelight as the Maltese representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. The group won MESC 2014 with their entry Coming home.

After making it through the semi-final, the group finished 23rd in the grand final. Malta’s best result to date is two second places. The first of which came in 2002 when Ira Losco represented the country with 7th Wonder, and the most recent was when Chiara finished runner up with the song Angel in 2005.

What did you think of the result of MESC 2015? Did Malta make the right choice for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015?
