MRT, the FYR Macedonian national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that the 2015 Macedonian Eurovision national final- Skopje Fest 2014 will be held on 12 November.

The  FYR Macedonian broadcaster has preponed its Eurovision national final, thus bringing it forward by one day from its initial scheduled date 13 November. Hence the 2015 Eurovision season will officially kick off on 12 November when FYR Macedonia selects its Eurovision act and entry.

MRT has received around 200 entries for Skopje Fest, out of which the broadcaster has selected a total of 13 songs for the grand finale. It is yet unclear how many songs will compete in the national final, but has MRT confirmed to ESCToday  that no more than 20 songs will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna (13 shortlisted entries+ 5 or 7 entries from invited composers). MRT will be announcing  the total number of participants along with  names of the competing acts and entries tonight.

In 2015 FYR Macedonia will select its entry via the 2014 Scopje Song Festival which is scheduled to be held on the 12 November with no more than 20 acts competing for the golden ticket to Austria. Hence the winner of the celebrated Skopje Song Festival will represent FYR Macedonia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. The 2015 Macedonian Eurovision entry will be selected via a 50/50 public televoting- International jury deliberation.

In 2014 MRT selected Tijana Dapcevic via an internal selection with her entry To the Sky to represent FYR Macedonia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Despite an energetic performance Tijana failed to qualify to the grand final.

FYR Macedonia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 and is yet to win the event. The country achieved its best placing in the contest in 2006 with Elena Risteka’s Ninanajna.
