Belarus: BTRC opts for a national final

BTRC, the Belarusian national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday.com that Belarus will select its 2015 Eurovision entry and representative via a national final. The format and dates will be disclosed in due course.

The Eurovision team and creative team of BTRC are currently evaluating and working on the 2015 Belarusian Eurovision  format and finalising the rules and regulations for the national final.

In 2014 Belarus opted for a national selection in order to select its Eurovision representative and entry. Teo won the 2014 Belarusian national final and flew the Belarusian flag at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in  Copenhagen with his entry Cheesecake, achieving a 16th place place in the grand final.

Belarus debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and is yet to win the event. The country’s best result in the contest was in 2007 with Koldun‘s Work your magic, when Belarus placed 6th.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle, in Vienna.
