RTCG, the Montenegrin  national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that Montenegro will participate at the forthcoming 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in May next year.

Montenegro  is the 23rd country to confirm its participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest.  Montenegro  joins BelarusLatvia, France  Greece,  FYR Macedonia, Austria, Cyprus, Malta, Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, Germany, FinlandThe Netherlands, Lithuania, Belgium, Portugal, Azerbaijan and Estonia  in the list of countries which will join the 2015 Eurovision party in Austria next year .  Whilst Georgia has stated that it is  most likely to enter the competition next year.

The method and mechanism Montenegro will use in order to select their Eurovision entry will be most likely an internal selection, as has been the case since its debut in 2007. More details will be disclosed in due course.

Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 and is yet to win the event. The country qualified for the Eurovision final for the very first time in Copenhagen this year with Sergej Cetkovic.  Sergej Cetkovic was selected via an internal selection to represent Montenegro at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry Moj Svijet achieving a 19th place in the grand final.

The official list of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest participants is expected to be released by the EBU by early January. The deadline for countries to submit their application in order to compete at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest has been set on 15 September.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle, in Vienna
