May 10th – The final

Only 48 hours separated the second semi final and the grand final. During this moment in time Conchita had again had another great rehearsal and discovered that she would be performing in position number 11.

Rise like a Phoenix at the final of Eurovision 2014

Receiving 13 sets of 12 points and votes from a total of 32 countries, Conchita was crowned the winner of the grand final with a score of 290 points. Conchita also won the Press Award at the 2014 Marcel Bezençon Awards.

Austria wins

Conchita’s win showed evidence that the majority of Europe accepted who she was and what she stood for. To thank Europe, Conchita made this statement:
