DT, (HPRT) the interim Greek channel premiered today the 4 competing entries bidding to represent Greece at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest today. Freaky Fortune and Riskykidd, Mark Angelo and Josephine, Krystallia and Costas Martakis are the four hopefuls who will compete on 11 March during the Greek National Final.

The 2014 Greek national final will be held at the Acro Music Hall in Athens on 11 March. The show will be aired on DT. The 2014 Greek national final will be a co-produced by DT and MAD TV Greece.  A total of 4 acts will battle for the right to defend the Greek colours at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Despina Vandi and Giorgos Kapoutzidis  will be host the show.

Greece debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the entry Krasi, thalassa kai t’ agori mou performed by Marinella. Marinella ended in 11th place with a total of 7 points. Greece’s best results was in 2005 when Helena Paparizou was selected to represent Greece with the song My number one and won the contest with a total of 230 points, bringing Greece their first and only victory to date.

Last year, Koza Mostra and Agathonas Iakovidis won the Greek national final with the song Alcohol is free, earning the right to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Qualifying to the grand final in 2nd place, they eventually ended in 6th place with a total of 152 points.
