A few days ago, it was announced that the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest winner Emmelie de Forest has been invited to perform at the Swiss national final.

Switzerland debuted at the very first Eurovision Song Contest back in 1956. Switzerland have won the Eurovision Song Contest twice; in 1956 with Lys Assia’s entry Refrain and in 1988 with Céline Dion’s entry Ne partez pas sans moi. Last year, Takasa were selected to represent their country in the host city of Malmö with their song You and me. Takasa received 41 points in the semi-final, ending in 13th place and therefore failing to qualify to the grand final.
