Finland: Hanna Sky wins UMK heat two

The second heat of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, Finalnd’s selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest, was aired earlier this evening with the other six contestants performing their songs live to the public for the first time. 

Hanna Sky won the heat after the jury and public votes were combined, meaning they will join heat one winners Softengine in the final.

MAKEA finished in last place and was eliminated the competition, meaning the remaining four contestants; MadCraft, Mikko Pohjola, Clarissa ft. Josh and Lauri Mikkola all go into next week’s semi-final to fight for the last six places in the final.

Next Saturday the semi-final will take place, where eight songs will compete for the six remaining places in the grand final and two more contestants will be eliminated.

Finland debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the event once in 2006 with Lordi’s Hard Rock Hallelujah, and last year they were represented by Krista Siegfrids, finishing 24th in the grand final with her entry Marry me.
