Serbia: National Final on 8th March

Serbian national broadcaster RTS, Radio Televizija Srbije, has announced today details about the first national selection of the country for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. The final will take place on Thursday 8th March.

Since the independence vote of Montenegro on 21st May 2006, Serbia and Montenegro will have to send be competing separatelyin the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. Today the Serbian national broadcaster RTS, Radio Televizija Srbije, has announced the details about Beovizija 2007, the Serbian national selection show that will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.

The artists can submit their songs to the national broadcaster until 29thJanuary 2007. A jury will select 20 songs that will have to compete at a semifinal on 7th March. Ten qualifiers will proceed to the final of March,8th that will take place at Sava Centar in Beograd. There will be 50% televoting and 50% jury votes.

Because they did not compete in the 2006 competition, Serbia will enter the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final on Thursday 10th May in Helsinki.
