Wallonian singer of Portuguese descent Nuno Resende, who represented Belgium at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, has been announced as one of the participants of the the 2nd season of The Voice in France.

As from 2 February, the popular TV talent show will be back on the screens of France’s main private channel TF1 after the huge success of its 1st edition. Nuno Resende, almost 40 now, tried his luck during the blind auditions and we are yet to discover if he has made it or not to the next stage of the competition.

Since his Eurovision experience, Nuno has made himself a name in the world of musicals in France and the French speaking countries thanks to his powerful voice and strong charisma.,having played some of the main roles in very popular shows such as Aladdin, La Belle & la Bête, Roméo & Juliette, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, Grease or Mozart l’opéra rock. With the cancellation of the musical tour of Adam & Eve, la seconde chance, despite its success inParis in 2012, in which he was playing one of the main characters, Nuno Resende decided to give it a try with The Voice in France in between a few concerts and a new project with the musical Erszebeth in Belgium.

It will not be the first time we have a former Eurovision participant entering The Voice in France. Last year, Lise Darly, the 2005 Monegasque Eurovision representative tried her luck, qualified for the battle sessions after the blind auditions, and reached the top 16 of the competition thanks to some very nice covers of French and international hits.

Whereas the 4 coaches, Jennifer, Garou, Florent Pagny and Louis Bertignac are back in the show this year again, it has been announced that some guest stars will also appear to back them during the battle sessions. Amongst them, two former Eurovision participants: internationally acclaimed Lara Fabian, the 1988  Luxembourgois representative and Patrick Fiori the 1993 French representative.
